DEDICATED TO HELPING FAMILIES
Since 2002, Senior Helpers has been a national leader in professional, inhome senior assistance services. We can be there for you at a moment’s notice to offer comfort, peace of mind, and personalized care planning ranging from one hour a day to 24 hours a day. Our mission is to ensure a better, safer quality of life for our clients and their families.
One of the most daunting aspects of aging are long-term, debilitating illnesses such as Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinson’s and other forms of dementia. With no known cure and limited treatment options, it can be quite challenging to find the best care solution that will provide peace of mind and help sustain relationships between loved ones.
Families don’t have to go through it alone. With expertise in Alzheimer’s and dementia care, Senior Helpers can become your trusted partner in making your loved one’s life–and your life–easier and more enjoyable.
Senior Helpers take a positive approach to Alzheimer’s and dementia care, They utilize the Senor Gems® program, this method focuses on what those with Dementia can do, instead of what they can’t do.
Senior Helpers works with dementia expert and registered occupation therapist, Teepa Snow MS, OTR/L, FAOTA. Her Gems classification system (base upon the Allen Cognitive Disability Scale ) allows the Senior Helpers team to understand which state of dementia the person is experiencing so they can put together the best care plan and select the best caregiver for that individual.
Teepa has over 30 years of professional experience and having provided care for several family members with dementia, she brings a strong clinical base and a unique perspective on how our brains control our bodies and behaviors. Caregivers who are trained using her approach and techniques can help change resistance and refusals into participation and successful interactions.
If you, a spouse, a Mom, Dad or sibling would like to begin a discussion, we urge you to give us a call. Handling this at a very early stage is in EVERYBODY’S best interest.
